Art Affair on the Square

A multi-arts festival featuring artists' market, juried art show, demonstrations, exhibits, and children's arts activities

Enjoy live entertainment from performing artists on the Courthouse Plaza stage. Feast on specialty and gourmet foods from vendors and downtown restaurants.  Join guided riding and walking tours of the city's abundance of 19th century architecture.

The Highlights of Art Affair on the Square

Established in 2005 under the leadership of founding chairpersons, Sara & Phil Kerns,  Art Affair on the Square always takes place on the 3rd Saturday in July. The family-friendly event has activities for all ages, so children to senior citizens will all enjoy. Everyone can find something to interest them at this multi-arts celebration, whether it's art, music, architecture, literature, food, or shopping. Attendance and parking at the street festival is free.

Artists' Market

Shop the original artwork of more than 60 artists from several states.

Art may include, but is not limited to: painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpture, textiles, collage, mixed media, photography, jewelry, and other fine crafts. No mass produced items, commercial exhibits or work from molds or kits.

Entertainment & Food

Set up a chair in front of the Courthouse Plaza and enjoy a program of lineup of performing artists that will play continuously throughout the day.

Choose from a variety of indoor and outdoor dining options from our charming locally owned eateries to a selection of gourmet food trucks.

Historic Downtown Urbana

Peruse the many specialty shops of Monument Square District showcasing the area's best antiques, vintage, home decor, gifts, and clothing.

Go on a horse drawn wagon ride or walking tour to observe the 19th century architecture of the historic area.

Reserve your space now!

All booth spaces are 12' by 12' and participants responsible for providing his/her own white tent(s).
Booth reservation fee: $65, payable to Monument Square District
Earlybird booth reservation fee: $50 when you apply by May 15.

Final deadline for application is June 15th or until full.
